While perfectly accompanying every dish as a replacement for bread, they may also be enjoyed on their own as an appetiser with a glass of good Prosecco; but are better paired with San Daniele Prosciutto Crudo, a young garlic salami and cheese, such as fresh Montasio and ricotta, accompanied by a Friulano or a Malvasia. Excellent with malga butter and anchovy served with a Ribolla Spumante. Try them in soups in place of croutons.
